Cialis description

Description: Cialis is prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction and the active ingredient present in it is Tadalafil. Cialis works up to 36 hours after dosing and was approved for use in November 21, 2003 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

It helps in curing erectile dysfunction (ED) in men where the penis does not harden and expand when sexually excited, or when he is unable to keep an erection. A man having trouble keeping an erection should consult his doctor for help when the condition bothers him. Even though Cialis helps a man to keep an erection when he is sexually excited, it does not cure ED, defend a man or his partner from sexually transmitted diseases, like HIV, serve as a male form of birth control or increase a man’s sexual desire. You need to talk to your doctor regarding ways to protect against sexually transmitted diseases

It should be used only under a doctor’s order.

Drug Mechanism: Cialis enables a man's penis to fill with enough blood to enable an erection during sexual stimulation. The erection goes away after sex is over. You cannot acquire erection by just consuming Cialis. Sexual stimulation is necessary for the medicine to be effective. Your doctor will offer you with best source of information when evaluating treatments for erection problems.

Dosage Form: This drug is commonly sold in 10 mg and 20 mg and10 mg is enough to attain effective results for most patients. Doctors initiate treatment with10 mg and may increase the dose if necessary. For people who require only 10 mg can purchase the 20 mg strength and divide the pill into 2 pieces of equal size with a pill cutter as per the approval of your doctor. Taking excess Cialis than prescribed can be harmful.

Drug Interactions: if Cialis is used in combination with certain other medicines like nitrates, alpha-blockers and recreational drugs that contain nitrates called "poppers", it can cause your blood pressure to drop unexpectedly to an unsafe level. A quick drop in your blood pressure can make you dizzy, faint, or bring a heart attack or stroke.

Pregnancy: Cialis is recommended for men with ED only and not for women or children and its effect has not been studied in pregnant women. It has not reported to cause birth defects or other problems in animals.

Nursing Mothers: Cialis is not suggested for women or children and it is not known that Cialis passes into human breast milk.

Alcohol Considerations: Cialis functions with or without a meal and is of use even with moderate alcohol intake. But alcohol can produce worse side effects from tadalafil. Alcohol can augment your chances of getting a headache or getting dizzy, increasing your heart rate, or lowering your blood pressure when taken in excess. Your doctor advises you how much alcohol you can drink while taking this medication.

Possible Side Effects: Cialis may produce some side effects like all prescription medications. It offers mild to moderate side effects that usually vanishes away within a few hours of use. Side effects include: indigestion, headache, back pain, flushing, muscle aches, stuffy or runny nose etc. those with back pain and muscle aches will experience it 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis and may go away by themselves within 48 hours.

Storage: Store this medication in the container that is tightly closed, and out of reach of children at room temperature 59-86°F (15-30°C). Store it away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom) and throw it away when it is outdated or no longer needed. Cialis notes:

Known with the generic name Tadalafil, Cialis is the product brand name for the drug that is manufactured by a company named Eli Lilly. It is prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction in male patients. A man suffering from erection dysfunction or ED has trouble in keeping erection long enough even while he is sexually exited. Although Cialis does not treat ED, it helps men in getting and keeping an erection long enough when sexually aroused.

Remember that Cialis should not be used as a medication that can treat ED as it does not increase the sexual desire in a man or protect the patient and his partner from STD. It is not used as a birth control as well. Patients with ED should take the suggestion of a doctor specializing in sexual disorders and should not start taking Cialis or any other similar medicine.

Available in the dosages of 10 mg and 20mg tablets, 10 mg dosage of Cialis is enough to help patients maintain the erection of the penis. All patients are prescribed a dosage of 10mg initially that can be increased only if the doctor’s feel the need for it. Patients should keep in mind that taking a larger dosage of Cialis can actually cause harm rather than proving beneficial.

This oral drug can be taken either empty stomach or with meals. Avoid using alcohol for better effect. Cialis can also have mild side effects on some patients like any other medication such as headache, indigestion, muscle aches, back pain, flushing, stuffy or runny nose.
